Pre & Post Service Checklists
Get the most out of your lawn treatment. Follow these simple steps before and after your service to ensure optimal results.
Pre-Service Preparation
Complete these steps 1-2 days before your scheduled service for the best results.
Mow Your Lawn
Mow your lawn 1-2 days before service. Cut it slightly shorter than usual (about 2.5-3 inches) to allow better access for aeration and seeding equipment.
Water Your Lawn
Water your lawn thoroughly 1-2 days before service. Moist soil (not saturated) allows for deeper, more effective aeration cores.
Mark Sprinkler Heads & Obstacles
Please mark any in-ground sprinkler heads, invisible fence wires, or shallow utility lines with flags or stakes before we arrive. This helps us avoid damage during service.
Clear the Lawn
Remove toys, furniture, hoses, decorations, and any debris from the lawn. This ensures complete coverage and prevents obstacles.
Secure Pets
Keep pets indoors or in a fenced area away from the treatment zone during service.
Unlock Gates
If we need access through a gate, please ensure it's unlocked on service day. Let us know about any gate codes in advance.
Ensure Backyard Access
Our equipment requires at least 49 inches of clearance to access your backyard. Please measure your gate or side yard opening to confirm we can get through.
Post-Service Care
Follow these steps after your service to maximize results and protect your investment.
After Aeration
Leave the Plugs
Don't rake up the soil plugs! They'll break down naturally in 1-2 weeks and return nutrients to your lawn.
Water Regularly
Water your lawn lightly but frequently for the first 2 weeks. Aim for 15-20 minutes daily to keep the soil moist.
Wait to Mow
Wait at least 1-2 weeks before mowing to allow the lawn to recover. When you do mow, don't cut more than 1/3 of the blade.
Avoid Heavy Traffic
Minimize foot traffic and keep vehicles off the lawn for at least 2 weeks to allow holes to remain open.
After Overseeding
Water Frequently
Keep the seeded areas consistently moist (not soaked) for 2-3 weeks. Water lightly 2-3 times daily for 10-15 minutes each.
Be Patient
Grass seed typically germinates in 7-21 days depending on variety and conditions. Don't panic if you don't see results immediately.
Delay Mowing
Wait until new grass reaches 3-4 inches before the first mow. This allows roots to establish properly.
Avoid Foot Traffic
Keep people and pets off seeded areas for at least 3-4 weeks to prevent seed displacement and allow establishment.
Skip Weed Control
Do not apply weed killer or "weed and feed" products for at least 6-8 weeks after overseeding - it will kill new grass.
After Fertilization
Water After 24-48 Hours
If no rain is expected, water your lawn lightly 24-48 hours after application to help activate the fertilizer.
Keep Pets & Kids Off
Keep pets and children off the lawn until it has been watered in and dried completely (usually 24-48 hours).
Continue Regular Mowing
Maintain your regular mowing schedule. Fertilized lawns may grow faster, so you may need to mow more frequently.
Don't Over-Water
Avoid excessive watering which can wash away nutrients. Normal watering (1 inch per week) is sufficient.
After Pest Control
Wait Before Watering
For grub treatments, wait 24 hours before watering, then water thoroughly to move the product into the soil.
Keep Off Treated Areas
Keep pets and children off treated areas until the product has dried completely (usually 2-4 hours).
Be Patient for Results
Grub control takes 2-3 weeks to show full effectiveness. Flea and tick treatments provide immediate protection.
Monitor for Activity
After treatment, monitor your lawn for signs of continued pest activity. Contact us if problems persist after 3 weeks.
